Description
Reproduced from the original mixed media work on paper. The format is based on the quartered circle referencing the Earth as a whole. Patterning is derived from the aerial map of the artist’s garden which has been stylised and superimposed at different scales to represent the passage of time.
The carefully torn paper edges bring an inconsistent and natural element to the work. The piece reflects the changing seasons, associated colours and some of the typical crops that can be harvested. The outline is based on the artist’s research studies of pollen grains using a scanning electron microscope and was added at a later date.
