Description
Reproduced from the original mixed media work on paper. The format is based on the quartered circle referencing the Earth as a whole, with the changing shades of green representing the seasons. Patterning is derived from the aerial map of the artist’s garden which has been stylised and superimposed at different scales to represent the passage of time.
The carefully torn paper edges bring an inconsistent and natural element to the work. The piece reflects the different ways the garden nourishes the artist: cognitively, emotionally, physically and aesthetically. The outline is based on the artist’s research studies of pollen grains using a scanning electron microscope and was added at a later date.
