Description
Reproduced from the original mixed media painting created on four separate canvases. The format is based on the quartered circle referencing the Earth as a whole. Each quarter represents a different season through the application of colour. Patterning is derived from the aerial map of the artist’s garden which has been stylised.
In the original piece, incorporated collaged elements include a seed packet and seed orders; part of a lunar calendar; a newsletter front page providing the title and a reduced Dig For Victory poster. The theme of the work is food security and the need for a decrease in dependency on imported food.
